Set 40338 - the LEGO Christmas Tree - is probably one of the most desirable and most sought after Gift-with-purchase sets ever.  The pre-Christmas timing was perfect, the model is gorgeous, and it seems the stocks were not huge so it was immediately in demand. We got hold of one through the time honoured tradition of "paying through the nose".  Actually it wasn't that bad - a kind person took pity on us and sold us one at a reasonable rate! We were very excited to see the bit light range expand again this month so let's have a look at the different types available. We enlisted some reptilian assistants and set up our three main types - Classic Bit Lights, Micro Bit Lights and Jumbo Bit Lights.  The difference is, well, illuminating! Check out the strength of the shadows in this example: The Classic Bit Light These miniature marvels are our traditional miniature light and come with the most options.  They're just 4mm in diameter with a built in resistor and provide a good strong light - not too bright...

Today we're taking a closer look at adding lights to our latest purchase - the gorgeous LEGO Creator Expert set 10269 - Harley Davidson Fat Boy. We were so excited to pick up this model we did a quick project on adding lights and this went straight to Instagram.  Now we've gone back to it, improved the lights, and have photographed the process so you light up yours too!
